Our Philosophy
Reaching Both Hearts and Minds
American Heritage Academy recognizes that a quality education requires the development of a sound mind, strong body, and healthy spirit. At AHA, we believe the development of the intellect and moral character are intimately related. That is why AHA has created a character-based education program. This program leads to academic excellence as scholars take personal responsibility for their education. AHA fosters:
- exceptional character and personality development
- a safe, disciplined environment
- a love for learning
- smaller class sizes resulting in greater teacher and students’ interaction
- an interest in higher education
- a life pursuit of learning
We believe that a quality education is concerned with the whole human being – sound mind, strong body, healthy spirit. From our perspective, an education that ignores moral and religious values cannot qualify as a quality education.
Faith

At American Heritage Academy, we believe that the most effective way for your child to learn is through proper study habits and a personal application of faith. Our teachers are trained to incorporate belief in a higher power, along with proven educational principles conceived by our Founding Fathers. The deeper understanding becomes an intellectual journey into a child’s whole being, not just results on a test score.
While we try to develop the mind, our true endeavor is to develop the soul. You will find this style of learning both rewarding and character building for your child. Faith and learning coupled with spiritual, moral and social guidance will provide in your child a bright future of personal accomplishment, productivity and service to mankind.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It's wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” ~ John Adams
Patriotism
Your child will come to have faith, courage and trust in the original documents that founded our great nation. American Heritage Academy believes that our Constitution was divinely inspired. As part of our learning process, each scholar helps develop a classroom constitution.
The governing values and principles upon that document will help guide their conduct throughout the school year. In this process, your child will internalize a timeless foundation of freedom. This experience becomes a microcosm of the process our Founding Fathers encountered when forming our great nation. A focus of patriotism is central to our teaching method and results in creating well-educated citizens for our country.
“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.” ~ Thomas Jefferson
Leadership
Central to your child’s education at American Heritage Academy, will be one of emulation: making the best features of an historical figure their own. Our curriculum can inspire your child to become a leader of the highest caliber. When your child develops qualities to think and reason, they become empowered to reach for their full potential.
The study of great men and women with strong moral character provides a reservoir from which to draw when facing challenges. Lessons of life become positive experiences as scholars liken their struggle with those who have walked before them.
At American Heritage Academy, we emphasize personal strength and divine nature within every student. Simply put, when a child recognizes the character of leadership, they will discover the greatness within.
“Good moral character is the first essential in man.” ~ George Washington
