A Las Vegas Faith-based Private School

Testimonials

Two years ago, our junior high school age daughter came to us requesting to go to a different school. When we questioned her as to why she was making such a request, she told us that the environment at school and the things that she had been exposed to made her extremely uncomfortable. We were very concerned and worried.

A friend of mine had heard that we were looking in to alternative arrangements for school the upcoming year and thought we might look in to American Heritage Academy. I had been aware of the school’s existence for a few years and knew a some friends and family members whose children had attended the school. That day, we made an appointment to take a tour of American Heritage Academy. After talking to the principal and other administrative staff members, it was clear to my daughter that she was set on going there.

I knew that the tuition was not something that we could afford, although the thought came to me that I don’t know if we can afford not to let her go. It was clear to me that her spirit could not take the environment that she had been in. I needed time to think about what to do. On the drive home, my daughter and I discussed what to do. She decided that no matter what, she was going to go to American Heritage. She made a deal with me that she would work to pay for the tuition.

She found a steady babysitting job and has paid her tuition in full every month for the last 15 months. The entire experience of the school is so worth it to her, that at 12 and 13 years old, she has been willing to spend weekends and Mondays babysitting to have the privilege of attending. I hope to one day be able to relieve a little bit of the burden off of her, but in truth, she is learning a valuable lesson.

American Heritage Academy’s program is exceptional, and we are very fortunate to have this school operating in our community. One of the most important values being taught is personal responsibility, in the form of self government. Each student is held to a high standard of accountability for their lessons and homework. In order to support this scholarly responsibility, the school holds the parents accountable as well. We support the school’s requirement for parental participation, and we salute them for insisting that parents are accountable as well.

We were also drawn to American Heritage Academy because of the high level of qualification of the teachers and staff. All of the AHA staff are humble in presenting their personal achievements, but their resumes speak very loudly to their successes in academia and business. This is a highly qualified staff, and their compassion and loving care is equaled by their clearly demonstrated talent and skill.

We are fully supportive of the dress code, and we believe that the distraction of shabby and untidy clothing is non-existent. Our children are proud of their uniforms, and they have learned to take pride in their appearance, rather than dressing to impress their peers with fashion decadence.

The school is faith based, and teaches Christian values and principles found in, and supported by, the Bible. AHA mirrors the principles of our United States government, and teaches the heritage of the United States with absolute pride and reverence. Make no mistake – American Heritage Academy is proud to be American.

Individual and personalized attention is one of the main reasons why I selected American Heritage Academy. This school strives on personal development and strong religious education and guidance. Personal maturation and development go hand in hand with academic preparation. My son has developed a better understanding of who he is and a great purpose for his life.
