Mr. Chuck Scholer
Mr. Scholer was born and raised not far from here in Kingman, Arizona. Immediately upon finishing high school he joined the US Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After 22 years of loving every minute of the adventure, travel, responsibility, and fun; he reluctantly retired and returned home to the family’s construction business. In 2001 he became a General Building Contractor, and soon after a General Engineering Contractor, but retired again in 2007 to attend ITT-Tech University and study Construction Management, Computer Aided Drafting, and Mathematics.
In 2011 Mr. and Mrs. Scholer were blessed with a son, Fred, and two years later a daughter, Lily. They knew that the public school system was broken and not the place for their children, especially Mrs. Scholer, who had been an elementary school teacher for many years. While searching with all due diligence for an alternative, they discovered American Heritage Academy. After meeting with Mrs. Beckstead, when Fred was only two years old and Lily was just newborn, the Scholers realized immediately that this was God’s place for their family. Almost two years later in 2015 they moved from Arizona, Fred started Kinder-Prep, and they have never had a moments regret.
It was always Mr. Scholer’s intention to get the children settled in and start a drafting business from his new home; but God had another plan! Out of necessity he came in to support Fred and help Mrs. Hedden in Kinder-Prep for a few hours a day. This grew into staying all day, every day, and a desire to be here and contribute, so strong that he has never missed a day of school since. He spent the next five years as a full time parent volunteer for lower grammar, and substitute “at the ready” for all grades anytime he was needed. Covid brought many changes to the day to day operation of the school, necessitating smaller classes and more teachers, so Mr. Scholer joined American Heritage Academy’s staff as an upper grammar and high school math teacher and is very happy to “officially” be part of the American Heritage Academy family.
