Mrs. Jennifer Flinders

Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Flinders studied Early Childhood Special Education with an emphasis in Mild/Moderate Disabilities at Utah Valley University and began her career in Lubbock, Texas as a Regional Special Education Coordinator, specializing in Autism. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1998 and began working as an Inclusion Coach in CCSD and an Academic Legal Advocate for Children with Disabilities. She taught Online Education with K12 and Nevada Connections Academy and served in administration for American Heritage Academy as an Accreditation Advisor. Mrs. Flinders has also volunteered in multiple Nevada state lobbying groups in support of Children with Special Needs, and is the Founder of Foothill PTO, a non-profit organization supporting the Parent Education Initiative in Southern Nevada, and Look Up, a preparatory summer program for transitioning special needs pre-k parents and students into kindergarten. Mrs. Flinders chose a career in foundational education because she loves the challenge of identifying early behaviors, cognitive and developmental delays, and other common issues in children to help set a healthy course for academic success. She's been happily married for thirty years, and we are the proud parents of three grown children. Mrs. Flinders enjoys visiting the beach, music, theater, hiking, camping, cooking, baking, reading, and spending quality time with her family.
