Mrs. Jessica Hartzell

2nd Grade Teacher
Jessica Hartzell graduated from UNLV with a BA in Music Education. She taught music for 5 years with CCSD before she decided to homeschool her children. Born in Tucson, Mrs. Hartzell feels like a Las Vegas native as she moved here at age 4. She is married and has 3 children who are all recent high school graduates. As they go off to pursue their lives, she decided to go back to her love of teaching. She has not only homeschooled, but has had the opportunity to teach children and youth in her church. She has also taught violin with the FAYM organization, a group dedicated to bringing music to children who otherwise couldn’t afford lessons. Mrs. Hartzell also hopes to bring a string program to American Heritage Academy in the next few years. While she is a bassoonist, she has taken her children to decades of lessons and picked up a thing or two about violin and cello. She loves music and wants to make sure every child has an opportunity to play an instrument if they desire.
