Mrs. Melissa Bingham

5th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Melissa Bingham was born in the Central Valley of California, but was blessed to have grown up in various parts of the state, her father was a pioneer in Computer Programming and her mother a Pediatric Nurse.

Mrs. Bingham gained a love of many hobbies and interests, including most outdoor activities and she has an absolute love to cook and teach kid’s the art of cooking! She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Art with an emphasis in Metal Arts from the Art Academy University in San Francisco. After graduation she settled in Las Vegas and began a successful career with the Guggenheim Museum and Smithsonian Institution for a number of years.

As their family began to grow, Mrs. Bingham followed her heart to raise and educate their children at home; with a Christian-based classical curriculum. It was in this period, that Mrs. Bingham found a true calling to Education. Mrs. Bingham possesses a deep passion for the rich history of our beautiful country and has instilled this appreciation in her four sons. This appreciation along with their core principles and values, naturally aligned their family with American Heritage Academy.

Their family has been with AHA for seven years and their youngest is a proud Patriot scholar. Mrs. Bingham is teaching fifth grade and is excited to bring her love of classical learning to her scholars as they complete their Lower Grammar journey and prepare themselves to begin Upper Grammar.

The James Madison Statesman Award is given to the senior who best exemplifies outstanding Christian statesmanship.
A statesman is a representative of Jesus Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve; one tooled in the art of self-government under God, able to wisely steward his God-given property —his conscience, time, and talent—and the property of others; one able to think and reason Biblically in all areas of life, rightly dividing the Word of God; and one able to lead, by example, his own generation in a spirit of selflessness as an ambassador of Christ locally, nationally, and internationally. For we are ambassadors for Christ. (II Corinthians 5:20)
