Mrs. Tracie Islas
Mrs. Islas is married and has one son who was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. Out of necessity, Mrs. Islas became involved in assisting her son’s teachers discover and meet his special needs. She believes through her son she has grown in compassion and is particularly aware that every child is special and needs love and understanding to flourish in his or her own unique way. Mrs. Islas loves American Heritage Academy for her family because of its small size, accepting nature, emphasis on American history, but most of all because “Christ is always our center”. As she spends the majority of her time volunteering at her church, growing her curriculum, or making memories with her family, she finds herself blessed to be a part of the American Heritage Academy family herself where she can support scholars in finding their own love of faith, patriotism, and leadership.
